THE ELEGANT DUDE – Part Deux (of many)

So, there is more, and more and more to talk about when it comes to the “elegant dude”, so this particular look is simple and achievable.

Proves that; a simple hat, makes the difference!

BOHEMIAN STYLE

This particular look reminds me of writers, heavy book readers, and very intellectual café goers in major cosmopolitan cities.  This is a very uncomplicated look, but with an elegance to itself that is described by the elements that compliment the ensamble. (the hat, the vest & the coat – gloves not shown)

A newspaper-boy hat will be enough to start defining how to take any outfit to a more casual level.

These types of hats will allow you to compliment a simple jacket, a turtleneck, a T-shirt and a sweater combo, a long-sleeved t-shirt or even a polo shirt (if summer time). Consider a simple necktie if you are wearing a button down shirt.

During winter, these hats are usually made of wool, but they’re available in many other materials (cashmere, heavy cotton, etc). Any similar material will allow you to keep your head warm, adding style to compliment your ensemble.

A simple vest (with some texture given by the material of the cap), plus a graphic scarf wrapped around your neck to create volume, will definitely give you an elegant stance.
Unless you know how to project it and feel comfortable, don’t go crazy about color. Just rescue tones from whatever you are already wearing, but never choose too much contrast – it is winter after all.

- A Trench Coat or Rain Coat that fits you is a must. Make sure the seam lays on the middle of your shoulder and make sure the sleeve length lays at least two inches into your hand wrist. To start pick a basic tones and make sure it has hand pockets.-

- Simplicity always pays, and it pays well... keep colors within the same tone, little by little add contrasting ones -

- To create layers and keep warm, I suggest a vest in wool with satin back. that way you are comfortable and at the same time, you can wear it without the coat. The ones with lapel will allow you to wear it with a simple long sleeve T-shirt -

- Rain Coats come with lining that is detachable, pick one that has simple lines, that way you have a classic already in your closet. Make sure that lays comfortable on your shoulders and with room to use over tick sweaters or jackets. -
