The annual Phoenix Fashion Week has on it’s first evening, the “Community Night” which presents an arrange of local designers, and as part of the shows, one highlight with a selection of local influences and celebrities, on a fun, and upbeat runway show, with live auction included, that gives back to the community.
If you are a reader of this blog, you will find the promo on my post just before this one about how the “Fashionably PINK” runway show, one that helps to raise funds for an Arizona based 501(c) organization by the name of “Check for a Lump” that has programs directed to raise awareness, create programs and help breast cancer patients.
Well, I got to be asked to be part of it, and it as a true honor.
As you all know, I am an official ambassador of the menswear brand SUITSUPPLY, so I had the opportunity to walk the catwalk (an exercise I left decades ago) wearing the latest fall trends from the mother company I represent.
Getting ready for a fashion show it is a choreography on it’s own.
Here I am back stage with my fabulous MUA & Hair staff, from the styling team of PHXFW, that in minutes and much care worked on my hair and make-up, so I did not look shiny on stage. Oh, I remember those years!
It was so good to run into great fashionistas, and fashion lovers, like my dear friend Tyler Butler, who on her own has created a fashion/philantropy brand she calls #givinginstyle with a blog that talks about her latest ventures within her brand. Each one of us walked the runway with much flare and fun, to the point that I even danced with my dear friend Caribe Devine, when we run into each other at the end of the runway to the beat of Pitbull’s latest song!
My experience on the runway was simply fun!, but the reality of the moment clicked when I had to walked on the finale with a survivor whose legs were amputated, and she wears prosthesis. Ones that she showed to world so kindly, by wearing a flowy printed floral skirt.
